One of the best Ruben sandwiches I have ever had. Bar none, an awesome place. The market has a great selection not found elsewhere. It is a very friendly neighborhood type environment and is always a joy to visit and enjoy good chow.

Love this place! Very friendly! They carry the best King cakes and so many other specialty items you can't get other places.

This place is solid, especially as our pitstop between New Orleans and Houston.
We decided to stop at this deli, as it seemed by far the best option on our way back to Houston. My boyfriend got one of the steak sandwiches, and I got the bbq roast beef, and we were both pleased with our sandwiches. They weren't mind-blowing by any means, and they certainly weren't cheap (~$20+), but they were freshly made and very filling.
Given our long trip, we also ended up grabbing Stacey's pita chips and their homemade spinach & artichoke dip and snacking on that before our sandwiches arrived. They certainly had a good selection of chips and other snack items as well as some solid basic market goods.
If we were ever back along this route, I would certainly stop here over the other options off the highway. -

First time ever at this place and will definitely be back.
I walked in and was a little confused what the place had to offer. I was greeted by a super nice lady that explained it's a mini market with an area to order hot prepared food. She was really patient and pleasant to talk to.
I ended up ordering the reuben and fries. The meat was really tender, not chewy or tough like some other places. They give you a huge portion of meat and a perfect amount of saurkraut . The fries were ok, could use less salt, nothing spectacular.
I can imagine this place would be great for lunch. It was definitely a great place to pick up dinner on the way home from work. -

This is our companies unofficial cafeteria. It's right across the street and it's 90 seconds from our front door. They have a great menu, they're fast even when they're busy. It's a deli so they'll have the usual suspects, salad, po'boys (they're called hoagies elsewhere), hamburgers, etc.
They have GREAT French Fries. They also have great deli sandwiches primarily due to the different varieties of fresh cut bread they serve it on. I always go for the marble rye. I must admit, if you are not a foodie like me you may not appreciate this as much. I like to try different things, however I was raised in a German household and rye bread is something I ate everyday. It's nice to be able to get a sandwich the way mom used to make it for lunch and usually for only around $5 or $6 most times.
Now they do have one thing that no one else has and maybe for me no one else ever orders (and one of the reasons I'm on a diet right now at the time I'm writing this), is they have Liverwurst sandwiches for $5. Big thick slices with spicy mustard and lettuce. Sounds gross? If you eat cracklings (that's worse IMHO). We each have our own downfall. Too bad we can't get scrapple here (Google it).
Anyway, great place for lunch, quick, fast and they have an Italian market with boutique Italian sodas, spirits, cheeses, meats, olive oil, etc. They also have prepackaged frozen dinners ready to go. While you may not do it everyday, it's nice to know it's there. They also sell wine.
Here's a tip for anyone in a real hurry, if you know they're going to be busy at lunch or you're in a super big hurry while racing down the road and don't want fast food. Call ahead! Order it so it's there when you arrive. You pick it up at the cash register when you walk in. I can't tell you how many times I have called ahead and walked in and got my order and left in just a few minutes only to leave people standing there asking, how did you get your food so fast?
Another tip is that they always have a special on the wall on the chalkboard behind the lunch counter register. They are notorious for having out of this world burgers that they think up that morning or whenever (sometime as an experiment?) and they're awesome. I always look there first before looking at the menu in which case I'd end up with the Liverwurst sandwich and a plate of fries.
Hope that helps.
